Core Infrastructure Group
We also work with researchers in creating custom databases for their projects. Depending on the project the data is also analyzed and/or made accessible through a web interface. Some of our database projects have involved creating large data warehouses with 25,000,000,000 datapoints for Genome Wide Association Studies; creating databases, analysing and providing web access to microarray expression studies.
The infrastructure group is also actively involved in data mining and integration. We have developed botXminer, a Clostridium botulinum specific literature database for mining botulinum literature (PMID: 16845112). bioDBnet, developed by integrating all the public databases at ABCC, lets users to easily convert between biological identifiers and also to generate extensive database annotations for individual identifiers (PMID:19129209).
